GLCF presents forest cover change study to Vice President elect of Paraguay
The Global Land Cover Facility's Deforestation Mapping
Group was invited to display its results and products
from its study of forest cover change in Paraguay during
the 1990s at a reception for the Vice President Elect
of the Republic of Paraguay, his excellency Luis Castiglioni.
The reception was hosted by the Ambassador of Paraguay
and held at the Mexican Cultural Institute on June 9,
2003. The GLCF display included a map of forest change
in eastern Paraguay during the 1990s and media describing
the data and methods used to create the forest change
products.
Eric Armijo, master student in geography and intern with
the Deforestation Mapping Group, presented the study results
to the Vice President. The DMG provided copies of the
presentation materials to the Vice President. Some of
these materials have been translated into Spanish.
