MODIS Flood Maps
Description
This product is produced in the University of Maryland Department of Geography using 250m MODIS
surface reflectance data. Files for each flood event are contained in a separate directory. The original
projection and datum is preserved as one option, as well as an option with each file in geographic coordinates and
WGS84 datum.
The acquisiton scheme for MODIS Flood Maps varies with each collection.
For the 2008 US Midwest Flood:
- June 3-6, 2008; from composited scene; Julian day 158 = last day of composite
- June 7-10, 2008; from composited scene; Julian day 162 = last day of composite
- June 11-13, 2008; from composited scene; Julian day 165 = last day of composite
- June 14-16, 2008; from composited scene; Julian day 168 = last day of composite
- June 17-19, 2008; from composited scene; Julian day 171 = last day of composite
For the 2008 Myanmar/Burma Flood:
- May 5, 2008; from daily scene
- May 7, 2008; from daily scene
- May 9, 2008; from daily scene
- May 10, 2008; from daily scene
- June 10, 2008; from daily scene
- May 25-30, 2008; from composited scenes
- June 8-10, 2008; from composited scenes
