The Coastal Marsh Project (CMP) used two streams of data to produce a model of vulnerability to degradation: USDA
National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) data, and Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite images. The imagery were processed
using PCI image processing software. The NWI quadrangles were processed using ARC/INFO software. In producing a final
product, reference data layers produced by ESRI, Inc. were integrated with the other data sets in the ARC/INFO
geographic information system (GIS) software package.
The data were processed using a Unix platform across the University of Maryland Glue network. The GIS and image
processing software were current versions through all CMP operations.
